English-Ukrainian Legal Translation Course
ABOUT: Legal Translation Course is focused on the translation of documents chosen according to their frequent use by companies and organizations of all types, which means their translation is of high demand in the market.
FOR WHOM: The course is for translators with at least 2-year experience who are striving for professional growth, want to understand the level of their work and find answers to the questions they have when translating legal documents.
CONTENTS: The course lasts five weeks and touches upon translation of four types of documents. Based on the texts of the above documents is the theoretical information which helps understand the principles of translation process.
TOOLS: CAT tools are introduced in the course, i.e. SDL Trados and MateCat. These tools have been chosen to make students aware of two different types of CAT tools and be able to master others easily, if needed.
RESULTS: During the course you receive assignments which should be done in time for trainers to check. The exam finalized the course. In case of positive home assignments and exam results, you receive a Certificate proving your successful studies at the course.

TRAINERS
NATALIA PAVLIUK
A freelance translator and interpreter since 1993, a registered entrepreneur since 2008. Having PhD degree in linguistics and having published over 20 research papers, she believes in research as the main translation technique. She delivers lectures, presentations and workshops in translation, participates in translation conferences and forums, publishes a journal about translators called Shadows.
In her translation career Natalia has developed strong connections with clients in Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the USA, Austria, Canada, and Germany. She has interpreted for ambassadors and consuls of over 10 countries, worked within programmes of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, was the UEFA contact person during Euro-2012. Now she continues improving her skills by taking online courses in law and corpus linguistics.
DARIA TIUTIUNNYK
A translator with 10-year experience of corporate work and 4 years of freelance translation. In her career Daria Tiutiunnyk has translated thousands of pages of legal, financial and technical (metallurgy and building) documentation.
Her experience in lecturing and drafting syllabi of translation subjects at B. Grinchenko Kyiv University, alongside her specialized translation education gained at Vasyl Stus National University of Donetsk, helps her train translators at high professional level. To develop her translation skills, she participates in conferences, studies at translation training courses, attends lectures and workshops.
